A group of pupils from year 10 had the opportunity to attend the Pathology Open day at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. Pupils had a chance to visit different laboratories in the hospital, including Histology, where they got to see a real human brain, Virology, where they heard gruesome sto-ries about insects found in people’s bod-ies, and Phlebotomy, where they were able to practice taking blood. Pupils said they really enjoyed the day and found it interesting to learn about the dif-ferent areas of a hospital that they didn’t know existed and the types of careers they could follow.
