Year 10 students will be on Work Experience during the final week of the academic year gaining an insight into the world of work. In preparation students will be given important information regarding this during tutor time in the forthcoming week.
This week we welcome Year 6 students from our feeder primary schools to their Transition Days. Monday and Tuesday pupils will meet their new form tutors and sample a variety of lessons, then on Wednesday they will take part in a sports day and finish off the day with the Transition Ceremony.
Letters have been sent home with all pupils asking for your views on the new name for the 3-16 Porth School. Please respond to email@example.com by Friday 23rd June 2017.
The School App has recently been updated to include revision material for most subjects. Holiday dates for 2017-2018 will be added shortly.
All pupils have been issued with individual timetables showing what day/time their exams are along with seat numbers. Please check this information carefully. Also please ensure that mobile phones are switched off and either handed in, left in bags or left at home - they are not permitted in the exam hall.
WIth exam season now upon us many departments are running addional revision sessions after school and during Whitsun. Full details can be found on the School App. Search for "Porth County" on the Apple AppStore or on Google Play.
A team of students from Porth County have presented ideas to BBC Wales Today producers and their idea has been chosen, this means they wil be producing a piece for Wales Today and it should be shown on 16th March - we will keep you all updated.
During half term the History Department ran a trip to Amsterdam for 50 students in Years 10-13 to visit many of the city's famous historical and tourist attractions. These included Anne Frank's House, Camp Vught Concentration Camp, the Nazi Resistance Museum, a Jewish memorial, a canal boat tour of the city, a day in Efteling Theme Park and some time for shopping and bowling. We would like to sincerely thank all those involved with making the trip an unforgettable experience.
