Diogelu ac Amddiffyn Plant
Safeguarding & Child Protection

Mae gan Ysgol Pen-y-Garth ddyletswydd bugeiliol tuag at ei holl ddisgyblion,  Mae'r ysgol yn chwarae rhan bwysig i atal camdriniaeth ac esgeulustod drwy greu a chynnal awyrgylch ddiogel i'n disgyblion.

Mae pob aelod o staff ysgol Pen-y-Garth yn gyfrifol am ddiogelu ac amddiffyn y plant sy'n ei mynychu. Os oes pryderon ynglŷn ag esgeulustra neu gam-drin corfforol, emosiynol neu rywiol, yna mae'n ddyletswydd ar y staff, yn unol â Threfn Diogelu Plant y Fro , i sôn am y mater gyda Pherson Dynodedig Diogelu Plant yr ysgol.

Gall y Person Dynodedig wedyn ymgynghori â chyd-weithwyr proffesiynol yn ogystal ag asiantaethau perthnasol megis y Gwasanaethau Iechyd a Chymdeithasol. Yn dilyn y
trafodaethau hyn, efallai y bydd rhaid i gyd-gysylltydd yr ysgol gyfeirio'r plentyn yn swyddogol i'r Adran Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol, yn unol â chanllawiau a phrotocol y Fro. Yr Adran Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol sy'n penderfynu a oes angen gweithredu neu beidio.

Oherwydd  natur yr honiadau , ni fydd bob amser yn briodol i drafod materion gyda'r rhieni cyn cyfeirio'r plentyn. Y Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol a'r Heddlu sy'n gyfrifol am ymchwilio i gyhuddiadau.

Mae'r ysgol yn dilyn gweithdrefnau Bro Morgannwg a phe bai cyhuddiad yn erbyn aelod o staff fe fyddai'r ysgol yn dilyn camau gweithredu'r Sir.

Ysgol Pen-y-Garth has a pastoral duty towards all of our pupils. The school plays an important part to prevent abuse and neglect by creating and maintaining a safe environment to safeguard our pupils.

Each member of staff at Ysgol Pen-y-Garth is responsible for the protection and safety of all the children at the school.  If there are any concerns regarding child neglect or physical, emotional or sexual abuse, then it's the staff's duty, in accordance with the Vale 's Child Protection Procedure, to raise the matter with the School's Designated Safeguarding Person.

The school's Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP) can confer with a professional colleague, as well as with a relevant agency, such as the Health and Social Services. Following these discussions, the School Co-ordinator may have to officially refer the child to  the Social Services Department, in accordance with the Vale's guidelines and protocol.  Social Services are responsible for deciding whether they need to act or not.

Due to the nature of some allegations, it is not always appropriate to discuss matters with the parent before referring a child.  Social Services and the Police are responsible for investigating  the allegations.

The school follows Vale of Glamorgan procedures and if there are allegations agains a member of staff we would follow their advice.
